The 2008 World Boomerang Championships organizing committee (WBC) announced today that
an agreement has been reached for the online webcasting rights to the 2008 World Boomerang
Championships. The WBC meets every 2 years at different locales around the globe and this year
it meets at the University of Washington facilities, in Seattle WA. Boomerangs are a rapidly
growing sport with regional competitions throughout the world and 12 national teams currently
participating in this event. Boomerangs.TV plans to webcast each day's highlights online from
August 18th - 25th. Opportunities are still available for exclusive broadcast rights to a media
presentation event scheduled for August 24th.
Seattle, WA (PRWeb) July 30, 2008 -- The 2008 World Boomerang Championships organizing committee
(WBC) announced today that Boomerangs.tv will webcast daily video updates of the 2008 World Boomerang
Championships in Seattle, WA. The world's top boomerang throwers will compete in a series of Individual and
Team events from August 17th - 28th with a media event day scheduled for August 24th, 2008.
The 2008 World Boomerang Championships (WBC) involve teams from 12 countries competing to decide World
Team and Individual Championships in the sport of boomerangs. The United States and Germany have dominated
WBC events since their inception in 1981, but strong teams and individual competitors are expected from
Switzerland, Australia, England, France, Japan, Denmark, Italy, Canada, Brazil and other countries. The general
public is welcome at all times but visiting on August 24th is recommended for best viewing.
The sport of Boomerangs is coordinated worldwide by the International Federation of Boomerang Associations
and in the United States by the United States Boomerang Association. This event takes place every 2 years and
includes the top boomerang competitors from each country. Many current world record holders and former world
champions will be competing; including current US All Around Boomerang Champion Dan Bower, 2 time US
Champ Matt Golenor and 3 time World GLORP Champ Steve Kavanaugh. Current world record holders
Betsylew Miale-Gix and Adam Ruhf will be there as well as 3 time World Champ, 12 time US Nationals Champ
Chet Snouffer.
